How the geometric trend is shaping our interiors
Pic: George at Asda
The geometric trend has been around for a while now, but I'm thrilled to see we are not tiring of it's repetitive patterns and mesmerising shape structures just yet.
Instead, it's popularity is rocketing. From art prints to textiles, paint effects to kitchen accessories, furniture to jewellery, it's safe to say geometrics aren't going anywhere just yet.
Like with any sustainable trend - monochrome, florals, Scandi - it moves with the times and just keeps evolving.

A lot of people (myself included) think of geometrics as somewhat of a modern trend - I instantly think of art movements such as Cubism and mid century modern art, of Joan Miro's surrealist shapes or even Mattisse's 'Snail'.
But our love of shape and form goes way back to the Ancient Greeks and Moroccans, where beautifully intricate designs were carved or painted onto pots - see I told you it had been around for a while!

So why are geometrics so popular? Because they offer something that a lot of other styles can't, they're versatile.
Whether you're after an enormous painted canvas using every colour under the sun, or a very simple notebook, geometrics cover the breadth and depth of design needs.
They can be as simple or as over-the-top as you like and they appeal to both men and women alike.
So I'll stop rabbiting on and get to the good stuff...I have rounded up 16 of the most inspiring geometric buys for your home that I can find - there is also a sneaky fashion buy in the mix too, it's a real 'Emily Dress' so I just can't help myself! There's something for everyone here.
AND, if you fancy getting all creative, I've got the perfect post on creating a bang-on-trend geometric art work for your home...coming soon!!

Ok, so here's the sneaky fashion buy I just HAD to include in the mix. I'm such a sucker for a dress that looks like a top and skirt, like you just threw it together casually. I'm a big fan of a pleat too, and when the skirt is adorned with such a funky pattern in soft hues, well it's a winning combo in my eyes. I'm off to get mine now!
